Friend Nostalgia.

Hey everybody, I know I've not written in ages, and that's okay! I've been having a hard time but this has been on my mind for a while now.

Anyway, cut to the chase. I'm sure you can tell what this blog is going to be about from the title.
Nostalgia.
"A sentimental longing or wistful affection for a period in the past".
I'm sure you've all experienced it! It's that feeling in your heart you get when you hear that song that you and your friends would sing at 1am at a sleepover, or the smell of your favourite perfume you use to wear when you were 14, or that TV show that you were obssessed with in highschool, or that picture. Or those pictures. And that's what I'm going to write about today. Specifically, friend nostalgia.

You know when you're 15 (haha Taylor Swift), and you have that one friend that you pinky swear with every day, laugh with non-stop, and you can just look at eachother from across the room at school and you both know EXACTLY what the other one is thinking, and just laugh. Yeah, that one. That's what I'm talking about today.

Now I'm going to feel stupid writing this for some reason, I guess I'm embarrassed about how passionate I am about a former friendship who probably doesn't think of me at all nowadays! I'm a very centimental person, and when someone makes an impact in my life - I'm just never going to forget them! That's just how it is.

So I'm sure you're all familiar of the app TimeHop on your phone, which pulls up all of the embarrassing things you ever wrote and posted publicly to the internet from a year ago, to six years ago. Now six years ago for me was a very sweet time in my life, I was in school and had a great set of friends about me and I was actually in an alright place! Besides petty boy drama and all the rest that comes along with being a teenager in those days.

Now I had a bestfriend, a BEST BEST friend back then, and I could never explain how thankful I am that I met her and we were placed together in form at school because it blossomed the most beautiful friendship. When we got to know eachother, we got on like a house on fire. We were both a bit weird, and we both loved Justin Bieber, and we just fit together like the most perfect pair.

We spent every waking moment we possibly could together, she lived in a village away from me and it was quite hard to get to eachother out of school but we would spend every day in school with eachother, going to one anothers for dinner after school and sleepovers at the weekends where we would stay up until 6am doing absolutely God knows what and sleeping till 9am so we can wake up and go on with our days. Those were the days! How bittersweet it is that at that age, all we wanted to do was grow up. Drive. Drink. Be older and not have our parents telling us what to do, and get out of school because we 'hated' it that much. Little did I know that now looking back, those were the best days of my life, spending them with my bestfriend.

We took SO many photos, so many videos that I can never express the amount of time that we spent behind a camera being stupid. But I am so thankful for that now, I am so thankful for the hundreds of photos that pop up on my Facebook timehop almost every day now dating back to six years ago when we took and posted them.

Friendship nostalgia is probably one of the hardest nostalgias that someone should have to deal with. There's nothing worse than remembering all your funniest times, and it being with that person that you don't even see anymore because you've grown so far apart. Seeing all your photos everywhere and you haven't talked properly in years.

In our school, you spent the first couple of years going to class with your form so you were never split up, and that's what we were! Never split up, never fought, nothing. Then there comes one year where you split up when you're older and you all get put into seperate classes with new people, and it's a chance for you to make new friends. And thats just what happened. She made new friends, and I just kind of watched her. I mean, I had different friends - don't get me wrong, but she was bubbly and loud and popular and I was me, and quiet, and not popular. And just like that, she was gone. We drifted, and the only times we ever saw eachother was when we were at a school event and getting drunk and sloppily confessing that we missed eachother and then she was gone again. That still happens now, we get drunk and we reminise and then we drift again.

I remember one when MSN was still alive, we talked for a long while on it and I was on webcam and we were reminising and I found an old necklace she gave to me and I actually started crying because I missed our friendshp so much, and it really hurt me! Now I just look from afar and I can barely recognise who she is from what she was, she is so different, and I guess maybe from her point of view I am so different too, but I never imagined life panning out this way, to ever lose who was my 'best friend' at the time.

Growing up is so cruel to us all, looking back on all the sweet promises you make to one another when you are younger now mean nothing. Staying 'Best Friends FOREVER' never really means forever. I believe that everything happens for a reason in this world, and that people come in and out your life for reasons that you'll never know - but the time you have spent with them has taught you something in your life. If that be love, or if that be grief.

So I'll carry on seeing the photos of me and my former bestfriend, and I'll carry on feeling this nostalgia I do everytime that I see these photos, and maybe one day when we're older and things are even more different, we'll meet again and reminise on these old times that we do when we're drunk, but we won't drift, but we'll stay and we'll carry on being those 'best friends forever' that we once pinky promised at 3am round mine, eating sweets and listening to beautiful music.

Keep Smiling,
Paige.

February Birchbox Unboxing!

Helloooo my lovely people!
Today I have something exciting for you, which is an on-going blog 'series' of mine, if you will, I have another Birchbox Review!! *dances*
If you don't fancy reading all this, I made a YouTube video on my channel unboxing it! Have a watch!

I recieved my box on Valentine's Day, which was actually a really good day to get it on, because my partner is the one that so kindly buys me these boxes and the last one came before my birthday, and this one on a special day, too!

I couldn't wait to get into my box, I was actually really excited to see what colour I'd gotten, hahah, typical me! Because you got one of three, blue, purple & pink (if I'm not mistaken!) Obviously, as you can tell by everything I own, I would have loved a purple one - but my second favourite colour is blue, so this still bodes well with me... but the contents is the most important part of itall really, isn't it?!
They are carrying on with their theme of "Best Year Ever", following on from the January Birchbox and I really think that this box is something special. The detailing and the little things are so lovely, the quote on the front is so positive and just something to make you smile! Also, you can use this as a storage holder like i said in my previous blog, & I 100% will be doing that with this one! What a keeper!

With all Birchboxes, the first thing you see when you open the box is a detailed leaflet which matches the box design, which tells you everything you'd ever need to know about what's inside your personalised box, how to use it, tips & tricks, and sneak peeks of the next month's box which they are already whipping up for us! Then you get the same bag that all your products come in - again - great for when you are going away for the weekend and need somewhere to hold all your hair-bits!

This is my collection of items that I recieved, which are tailored to my needs that I wrote on their website when I first signed up, and oooo what a lovely bunch of items they are!

Number 4 - Lumiere d'Hiver Super Comb, Prep & Protect - TRAVEL SIZE | RRP £20
ANOTHER LEAVE IN CONDITIONER! Eeeek I am so happy we got another leave in conditioner! My hair is in such a terrible condition after bleaching it, and applying too my prodcuts (which I think is a thing btw), having it cut super short, which I am not happy about! My ends just need some TLC and this sweet smelling conditioner I feel like has my back. Or my hair. Yano. This nifty little bottle strengthens and repairs tired strands of poorly hair, along with de-tangling it and tames all those windy flyaways, without containing sulphates or parabens! I'm not too sure what that means but they're excited for it, so i am too. Just spritz this evenly over towel-dried or damp hair and you're good to go!

Delarom - Créme Acquaconfort - TRAVEL SIZE | RRP £34
Goodies for your face! This is a cream with a really fancy name, as it's from or made in Paris as you can see, and I'm excited to try this! I am trying to step up with my skin care, as my skin on my face isn't my best friend at the worst of times, and moisturising is key! Sweet almond, apricot oils, vitamin A, C & E! In this tiny little bottle to make your sad looking skin look like it's glowing. This will soothe and nourish dehydrated skin without making it feel like you've moisturised. Use it after your cleanser and wait till it sinks in!

LOC - One & Done Shadow Stick in PERFECT CENTS - FULL SIZE | RRP £8
Isn't this a beauty! Birchbox sent out an e-mail sometime in the midle of January asking their buyers which they'd rather prefer of this eyeshadow stick. You got one of two colours, Perfect Cents, which I got, and Champagne Problems - which I actually asked for as I don't think this colour will suit me at all, but Champagne Problems was obviously the more chosen one and I ended up with this - which I'm still really happy with and I'll find a way to make this work! Now, this says it's up to 11 hours of creaseless, waterproof colour in one handy stick, AND IT ACTUALLY IS! I tested this out for myself on my hand, and through washes, rubbings, and the daily grind this did NOT BUDGE off my hand, I was absolutel amazed! The pigmentation is unreal and I can only imagine how beautiful it would look on your lids. Pop this all over your lid and blend with your fingers for a quick-fix!

theBalm Cosmetics - Frat Boy Blush/Shadow - TRAVEL SIZE | RRP £15.50
Ooooo beautiful blushes, which have multiple uses! This teenie tiny little blush is the cutest thing I've ever seen, and such a beautiful blush colour which I think would suit all skin tones! I never know what colour blush suits me and what their names are etc, but I think this one is a winner for me - and is actually like my Benefit Rockatuer blush that I use every day! However tiny it may be, this packs a punch for pigmentation so just swirl it all over the apples of your cheeks for a rosy glow!

L.Erickson - Grab & Go Ponytail Holder - 1/15 | RRP £11.50 FOR A FULL SET
Who doesn't need a bobble?! This was such a cute touch to the box this month, and it is such good quality! It is so stretchy, so it is good for thin and thick hair a-like. It's so dainty and wll look good in all colours of hair, and is actually designed so that when you pull out your ponytail, no hair catches around the band which is MAGICAL! I am yet to test this out myself, but I always have my hair up everyday so this excites me very much.

Spectrum Collections - Tapered Powder Brush - FULL SIZE | RRP £7.99
The moment we've alllll been waiting for! *drum roll please* A SPECTRUM BRUSH! Oh my goodness, the rumours are TRUE! These brushes are amazing" The quality is insane, from the bristles that are two of my favourite colours, to the metal light pink handle which feels so good in your hand when you're putting on your makeup. I can not express how soft this brush is, and it actually makes me never want to use it because I don't want to ruin it! I know you can get boxes and shell packs of these, but if you're not all that into makeup then just one is enough! They suggest you use this for powder, but you could use it for bronzer or contouring if that's your thing! Eeek, I am in love. You did good Birchbox.

So that is the end of the February Birchbox! They actually also gave out a necklace to one lucky customer that was worth £200, how lovely of them! The boxes keep getting better and I am so excited for next months already! Don't forget to check out my YouTube video on this if you want to get up close and personal with me and the products!

Leave a comment below if you got a Birchbox, and what did you get in it? I'd love to know!

Keep Smiling,
Paige x

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qNooMy2HoYI

Helloooo beauties!!
Two posts in ong day?! *gasps*! What is wrong with Paige?!
Nothing is wrong with me, nothing at all! I am just here to let you know that DAY TWO of my New York Vlogs has JUST gone live right now and I'd love it if you went over and gave it a watch!

In this one we went venturing around NYC a little bit more, as this was our first proper day in the city, so you see a lot of my shoes in the shots haha. Also, we went up into a reeaaaally tall building which was great and highly terrifying, next heading off to a theatre performance of WHAT you might ask, but you'll have to watch to find out....

AND STORM JONAS HIT! The infamous Storm Jonas that took New York *by storm* mwuaha, puns, so go have a watch! I would really appreciate it, and give it a thumbs up for Storm Jonas and maybe even a cheeky subscribe to be updated when all my other videos come out!

Thanks guys, I hope you have a great week!

Keep Smiling,
